Bio

Ar Bismina Akbar serves as Assistant Professor at EKC college of Architecture.She did her post graduation from College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET) in Masters in Planning(Housing). Her background includes professional work experience of 6 years in both teaching and practical field. Her experience in Architecture includes working with Mindscape Architecture and MGM Architecture Studio in hospitality projects and Health care projects.During her Post Graduation Internship she involved in the preparation of “Risk Informed Master Plans General Frameworks” at Local Self Government Department, Thiruvananthapuram. She has wide experience in teaching as she worked as Architectural Lecturer at Ma’din polytechnic college, Malappuram and also worked as Assistant Professor at NRM college of Architecture Kollam. Along with teaching she also serves as the position of Principal Architect at Onflow Architecture, Malappuram where her design style predominantly revolves around tropical architecture and her keen eye for aesthetics and functionality drives her to focus on emphasizing the importance of function while maintaining a unique and inviting architectural style. Her research interest includes Urban Flood Risk Reduction Strategies and Climatic responsive design solutions. She attended SMUS 4th International conference held at Thailand and presented her Research paper on ‘Housing Land Suitability Analysis of Malappuram district, Kerala’. She is also a part of Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI) and an active member of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Malappuram Chapter as well.
